This Week In The NFL - Regular Season Week 2

Week 2 in the NFL Season kicks off on Thursday Night Football, with the debut of it right away in the 2012 season versus late inthe season. And what a game it is, with the Chicago Bears traveling to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers.

Then on Sunday afternoon, there are several games to pay attention too. The defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants host the Tampa Bay Bucs, while the Baltimore Ravens travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles. Baltimore arguably looked like the best team from the opening weekend, and appear poised to make a run at the Super Bowl.

In the late afternoon wave of games the New York Jets will travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers. The Jets offense came alive in Week 1 after a dull preseason. As for the Steelers, they will be looking to rebound from an opening week loss to the Denver Broncos. The Broncos will be in Atlanta on Monday Night Football to take on the Falcons. On Sunday Night Football, it will be the Detroit Lions visiting the San Francisco 49ers. It will be interesting to see how the 49ers follow up the big Week 1 win in Green Bay.

Week 2 Thursday Night Football Week 2 Sunday Night Football Week 2 Monday Night Football

The Green Bay Packers lost just once during the regular season in 2011. After Week 1 in 2012, they have already equaled that loss total. The Packers will try to rebound from the loss at home in Week 2 against the Chicago Bears. The Bears started off with a nice win over Indianapolis. This is the oldest rivalry in the NFL, and the winner of this game will get a leg up on the other early in the NFC North race. The Packers defense will have to key in on Matt Forte. He is just as dangerous catching the ball out of the backfield as rushing.

The San Francisco 49ers host the Detroit Lions in the Week 2 edition of Sunday Night Football. And perhaps there is no team quite as confident as the 49ers are. They went into Lambeau Field, and that defense stopped Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay offense. Detroit came away from Week 1 with a victory as well. But if the Lions offense is going to have success agaisnt the San Francisco defense, quarterback Matthew Stafford will need to be more accurate with the ball. He threw a pick-6 to St. Louis last Sunday.

Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos go on the road in Week 2 on Monday Night Football to the Georgia Dome to take on Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons. This will be a battle between two offenses with explosive capabilities, particularly on the side of the Falcons. With Julio Jones and Roddy White forming one of the best receiver tandems in the league, it will put a lot of pressure on the Denver secondary. But the Falcons defense will have their work cut out for them as well, trying to combat the no huddle offense that Manning is sure to operate.
